Thai Papaya Salad

Thai papaya salad  (Som- Tum)ส้มตำ


In different part of Thailand made the papaya salad in different ways. In Esan or north east they add pickle fish sauce and in the north add the noodle in it. 
So when you make papaya salad we usually use this tools to shred the green papaya.



Easy to find it online just type in "papaya shredder" it will come up. Peel the green skin off rinse it once  then start to shred slowly because this thing it sharp. This kind of dish it depend how you seasoning if you follow my recipe still not taste  you like keep adjust by add a little bit of lime juice, sugar  or fish sauce.





Papaya saladส้มตำIngredients2 cup (about)Green papaya shredded1 clove garlic2-3 chili2 Tbsp. Peanut4-5 cherry tomatoseasoning : fish sauce, palm sugar (brown sugar), lime juice


Add garlic and chili to the mortar and pestle beat well (not too fine).Add shredded green papaya and slice an heft of cherry tomato and put in with the garlic and chili.Add the seasoning a little bit at the time then test it. Add some seasoning until you happy for your test. Put on the pate serves with lettuce
